A successful season for our club was marked with an awards night for the three men’s teams yesterday (Saturday, May 10th).

More than 100 players, officials and supporters were welcomed by chairman Mike Hall who thanked everyone involved in the club for their efforts during the past year.

The three managers – Richard Cherry (firsts), Mark Owen (Reserves) and Matt Groves (A team, joint with Warren Toth) – then each reviewed the season before the presentation of awards.

Winners were:

CLUB AWARD

Young Player of the Year (Keith Davey Cup) – Dylan Groves.

FIRST TEAM

Leading Scorer (Jeff Fleet Cup) – Jake Quick.

Players’ Player (Selwyn Aspin Memorial Cup) – Glen Wright.

Manager’s Player – Mark Cornish.

Supporters’ Player (Chairman’s Cup) – Glen Wright.

RESERVES

Leading Scorer – Jack Bryant.

Players’ Player (John Stevens Cup) – Alfie Barratt.

Manager’s Player (Lloyd Manning Memorial Cup) – Sam Bryant.

Supporters’ Player – Jack Bryant.

A TEAM

Leading Scorer – Jordan Sellick.

Players’ Player (Neil Jenkins Trophy) – Mitch Hansen.

Manager’s Player (Roger Nunn Cup) – Aiden Trott.

There were also presentations to several club helpers including Lauren Watts, who has stepped down after three years as sports therapist.

Our Wildcats Ladies are holding their awards night on Saturday, June 14th, Wellington Ladies on Saturday, May 24th, while presentations to the various boys’ and girls’ teams are taking place throughout May and June.
